dubai was fab. i wish i had listened. i wish i had packed only my toothbrush & 1 outfit (in which to go shopping in) & went there that way-with an empty suitcase. all there was to do was shop till you drop.
a very lovely trip indeed due to my mothers company. it was a very lovely present indeed.
a long 8 days that were wonderfully spent.
the taxi drivers there were so hospitable & so very helpful. & the best part they all spoke or understood urdu/hindi. we learned that quite quickly.
its kinda crazy how the city looks as if it were flourishing & all of a sudden all the building just went to a halt. it feels sort of abandoned in some places. but the malls arent one of those places. ive never seen such malls before. i mean this is like american stores + european + stores you havent seen yet. i mean the simplest picture i can point out to you is that of the starbucks in the middle of the mall with a mosque type of dome over it with poshy & plush chairs that are in all the rich hues of the rainbow to put your rear on while you nibble away on a eastern cake sipping your iced caramel latte (decaf for now pls).
hope that shows what im saying.
so many things to remember from that trip as my memory is vivid but to highlight 1 for now:
the dessert safari where you ride the sand dunes in a 4x4 hanging on to dear life thanking the lord that the driver you thought was rude & an --- is that way as he needs that attitude of his to manuever the wheel that shakes at each turn. funnnnnn but they forget to tell you in the beg. that you may barf due to all the turns. & then you are darn afraid to eat at the lovely buffet dinner they have set forth until the driver tells once you reach there that there is indeed a straighter road that leads home. hahaha so funny.
