some images from one of the malls outside places (malll of emirates) where there are a tun of restaurants lined in a row around the river area where each of the restaurants have inside & outside seating. quite lovely. they also do these water shows as in vegas in front of the mirage. so i took a walk around there where you can actually hear the songs from the speakers & this one from celine dion & andre bocellis song "the prayer" & it was very nice & sad.
a small verse where celine dion sings:
I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go
And help us to be wise, in times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way
Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe...
& then andrea sings & its a very lovely song.
this is exactly how it was done in her concert in january here when i went.

dubai pt 2

me & the sexiest arab i ever met

my personal gold armoire at the souks. yeah & once you keep walking you will find the spice souks as well. but who cares for some cinnamon & saffron when you can indulge in lots of window shopping of things made of gold you cant even imagine. umm a gold vest, a figurine of a baby on a betel leaf all made of 22K gold. yeah even a tiger & pooh. now thats something.
umm the souks are basically markets, so theres one after the other filled with things that are supposedly cheaper as in comparison to the rest of the markets. you can actually find a scrumptious gyro for 4 dirhams (less than a $1.50) now thats a deal!

dubai pt 1

dubai was fab. i wish i had listened. i wish i had packed only my toothbrush & 1 outfit (in which to go shopping in) & went there that way-with an empty suitcase. all there was to do was shop till you drop.
a very lovely trip indeed due to my mothers company. it was a very lovely present indeed.
a long 8 days that were wonderfully spent.
the taxi drivers there were so hospitable & so very helpful. & the best part they all spoke or understood urdu/hindi. we learned that quite quickly.
its kinda crazy how the city looks as if it were flourishing & all of a sudden all the building just went to a halt. it feels sort of abandoned in some places. but the malls arent one of those places. ive never seen such malls before. i mean this is like american stores + european + stores you havent seen yet. i mean the simplest picture i can point out to you is that of the starbucks in the middle of the mall with a mosque type of dome over it with poshy & plush chairs that are in all the rich hues of the rainbow to put your rear on while you nibble away on a eastern cake sipping your iced caramel latte (decaf for now pls).
hope that shows what im saying.
so many things to remember from that trip as my memory is vivid but to highlight 1 for now:
the dessert safari where you ride the sand dunes in a 4x4 hanging on to dear life thanking the lord that the driver you thought was rude & an --- is that way as he needs that attitude of his to manuever the wheel that shakes at each turn. funnnnnn but they forget to tell you in the beg. that you may barf due to all the turns. & then you are darn afraid to eat at the lovely buffet dinner they have set forth until the driver tells once you reach there that there is indeed a straighter road that leads home. hahaha so funny.

hello again

my old blog of 3 years was deleted or lost. whichever. thanks to someone extremly wonderful- the archives of them were saved in microsoft document bit for bit (which i cant wait to print & leave in a binder for my offspring(s).
i am so thankful to you my dear for making that possible. who knew that i was no longer going to be allowed publish blogs anymore & not even be able to get in touch with anyone about the issue.
so people save your stuff away.

so heres my attempt at a new one as i love this blog deal. its fun & a nice writing outlet.
